2025

7 days of fasting & prayer devotional

Day 1: Declaration for 2025

Scripture

Matthew 6:10 KJV

"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."

Prayer

Lord may the establishment of heaven rule in my life here on earth. I declare that heaven lives in me so I yield myself to You, let Your will be done. Amen

Reflect

The declaration of my future. The word of God remains. In heaven it has already been settled. Therefore, when we declare what is already in heaven, by faith we receive it on earth. Bring heaven into your job, finances, marriage, health and LIFE. To the measure you believe is the measure you will receive because faith pleases God. If you believe that the God of Heaven has what you need, put a demand on it, not on God but on what you need.

Day 2: Taking it by force

Scripture

Matthew 11:12 KJV

"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."

Prayer

Lord Jesus infuse me with heaven's authority to be able to become radically moved by faith to begin to take back what belongs to me according to your will. Amen

Reflect

When God established His earth, mankind was to rule over it. Because of sin the church has lost her balance. These days the body of Christ (the church) must become STRONG, BOLD, AND RADICAL in it's reactions towards the violence coming against it. First we must learn to surrender one's life and self-interests in order to gain God's kingdom goals. Once surrendered we must enter with boldness and authority and take back what the enemy has stolen from us. Come into prayer full of radical faith excepting a radical move of God in your situation.

Day 3: Fullness of joy

Scripture

Psalm 16;11 NKJV/ TPT

"You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy"

"Because of You, I know the path of life, as I taste the fullness of joy in Your presence."

Prayer

Lord I come before You with an open heart. I yield my life, my thoughts, and my desires to You Jesus. I pray for Your presence and revelation. In my weakness You are my strength. Amen

Reflect

As we focus on His presence allow the Holy Spirit to guide you during this fast. Seek His face and seek revelation in His word. In His presence is fullness of joy. The focus of our search should be JESUS. It is only in His presence where we find the strength to face the things of life. At the height of the storm is when you find out what you're made of. You need to experience the presence of God to experience His power.

Day 4: The crucified life

Scripture

Galatians 2:20-21 NKJV

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, WHO LOVED ME and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain."

*also take time to read Matthew 27:26-50 TPT

Prayer

Holy Spirit help me to yield my whole life to Your lordship. Help me to surrender all to Jesus, my precious savior. Make my life deeply connected to the Lord Jesus.

Reflect

The lifestyle of the redeemed looks like the crucified life. Jesus demonstrates love and greatness and His kingship on the cross. Jesus defeated sin with the CROSS. We have victory through the CROSS. What does that look like? it looks like saying no to your flesh, no to you and yes to Jesus. Not my will, Lord Your will be done. When you put to death the old man, your new life is in Christ. The good news of Jesus Christ is more than information to believe, it is a lifestyle to be lived!

Day 5: Sacrificial Love

Scripture

John 15:13 TPT

"For the greatest love of all is a love that sacrifices all. And this great love is demonstrated when a person sacrifices his life for his friends."

Matthew 22:37 NKJV

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind."

Prayer

Lord Jesus bind my heart to Your heart and my mind to Your mind. Help me to love.

Reflect

Love is sacrificial. We know this because God, who is love, gave His own life on the cross for us. Marriage is no different, where two people are joining together as on, laying down their lives for each other fortifying a bond of love. Jesus gives us two great commandments and one of them is to, "love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you." Laying your life down for the Lord looks like preferring Him over ourselves. It is on the preferring of His nature and His desires over our own, where we find the fortification and the bonding of our hearts to His. This is walked out daily in the life of a true believer and follower of Jesus. He is the Bridegroom and we are the bride. He is the Head and we are the body.

Day 6: He is here

Scripture

John 16:13-15 TPT

"But when the truth-giving Spirit comes He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefor I said He will take of Mine and declare it to you."

*also take time to read Psalm 27:1-14 and John 15:1-27

Reflect

Can you make this your deepest desire and prayer? To know Him, to truly be one with Him. In the Old Testament, there were designated places where God's people would encounter His presence. Now, because of Jesus, His spirit is dwelling within us and among us. If Christ is in us, we have the strength to remain in Him all the days of our life. This looks like having the power to let go of all sin, allowing Him to shake up our comfortability, to burn again the areas we have let become complacent and cold.

Prayer

As you pray, believe this over HOF. Pray this prophetically over your family. Let faith arise that they would come to the knowledge of Jesus. Pray for an increased awareness of His presence and respond to it!

Father, reveal Yourself to us through Your Spirit and Your Son. Amen

Day 7: Understanding the Holy Spirit

Scripture

John 14:15-19 NKJV

"If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever - the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will also live."

*also take time to read Psalm 100:4 and Matthew 22:37-38

Reflect

Even with Jesus being physically next to the disciples, Jesus knew they needed the Holy Spirit that allows us direct access to talk to God anytime (prayer) for a closer relationship. Jesus demonstrated how to daily walk with the Holy Spirit in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John). We can ask the Holy Spirit to helpless our prayers to develop a consistent, intimate relationship with God (like how Jesus often went alone to pray). His only commandment from the New Testament was to love Him with everything. Let's love Him with everything and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us today.

Prayer

As you start to pray: focus on cultivating this deeper relationship, come first giving thanks and praise to Him. Thank Him for being our Father, for everything He's done and plans to do. Focus on coming to Him as His child with the intention of just wanting to spend time with Him without needing to gain anything. Don't treat this as just a time of investment, this is a response of loving Him back, because He first loved us.
