Sometimes what we view as paradise is just superficial. We can't live off superficial paradise, when comfort becomes a cage. What the world calls paradise is often just a polished prison. True paradise is not a one time trip to experience, it's when we trust God beyond what we can see . We as believer's don't want to get caught in that trap of just having moments of the goodness of God in the land of the living. What if the "paradise" you are clinging to is actually the things that's holding you back? Where you've encountered the presence of God, and though you're not where you used to be, you are not walking in the purposes God intends for your life.
Superficial Paradise is...
a relationship that feels right, but it's draning your spirit
a job that pays well, but keeps you spiritually dry
a lifestyle that looks great on the outside, but leaves you empty on the inside
God has called us for much more!
True Paradise is...
found in God's Word
in His promise
His purpose
on the right path
Jesus paid it all for us to enter paradise.
Salvation is a free gift (you cannot earn it, or buy it)
But discipleship costs us surrender, obedience, and sacrifice.
The reward is worth it!
Everything given up to follow Jesus is nothing compared to our eternity with Him.
Reflection: What is one thing Jesus is asking you to lay down so you can step into the new thing God is doing?
